Positive Thinking Training for Teenagers with Anxiety

A study published in the journal of Child Psychiatry and Human Development revealed that adolescent anxiety can be reduced by helping teenagers develop the skills to transform their negative thoughts into positive ones. The study involved 36 teenagers and used a computer program to help the teens alter their destructive thought patterns.

Argumentative Teens May be Better at Resisting Peer Pressure

A University of Virginia study revealed that teenagers who frequently argue or disagree with their parents are more likely to stand up for themselves during high pressure situations. The study suggests that teenagers use disagreements with their parents as a chance to practice for other situations that they may encounter. Adolescents with anxiety, especially social anxiety, are likely to argue with their parents frequently because they feel that they are in a safe place to let out the emotions that have been bundled up all day.
