Helicopter Parenting Leads to Anxiety

While attentive, hands-on, and empathetic parenting can lower a child’s risk of anxiety, helicopter parenting (referring to parents who “hover” over their children) can decrease a child’s confidence and increase a child’s anxiety level. Parents are encouraged to be present and emotionally available to their children, but to give them room to build their self-esteem by encouraging them to do things for themselves.

Parents Who Are Overprotective Can Increase Their Child’s Chance
